I woke up today and read my RSS Feed just like I always do. I hit the Google blog and found a great post that I felt I needed to share with you guys. Gmail has always been at the forefront of great new advancements to email, today proves no different. You can now video chat seamlessly right inside the Gmail browser client. All it takes is a quick download and you are in business.
I gave it a spin earlier and it works great. The video is fluid and it was a breeze to setup. If you are into video chatting with girls who are like 19 years old via video, this is better than AIM video chat, hahaha! Seriously though this is a great addition to Gmail and I’m sure it will only improve. Check out the Gmail Blog, install the plugin and get chatting.

So bored, I start work on Tuesday. Marketing job so it shouldn’t be that bad. With the economy the way it is I am excited to get any position that isn’t working the fry-alator. Not really a knock on fast food but I don’t think that’s a job for me. The problem I face daily while looking for a respectable job is professionals are losing their jobs left and right. So what do they do? They apply for jobs for 40 and 50 thousand a year… jobs I should be getting but jobs I am not not getting because they snake them out from under me. They have double the experience I have but are willing to work for pennies compared to their former 100k a year job.
I have been giving serious thought to going back to school. I am burned out from being burned out. I am tired of free time… who would have thought. I thirst for knowledge so I think I want to start quenching that thirst. The key is finding the right classes in the right school. Going over to the local community college is alright except they don’t offer much and it’s like a high school reunion sometimes. I greatly dislike that.
I am working my creative muscle more, I am starting to piece together a band. It’s something I have wanted to do for a very long long time. I don’t really care if we are any good, or even if we stay a band very long. Just long enough to play a show or two and I will consider it a success. More on this at another time. Just kind of talking it out in my own head.
I am eagerly awaiting my T-Mobile/Google G1 featuring the Android OS. You know… the one I have been writing about on here for the last few months. I have my preorder in and have since the night of its internet release/announcement. Expect a full review of the phone once I get it on the 22nd of October. As always look for me on Twitter.

Digsby is a new Instant Message client that is taking the Internet by storm. What makes it so amazing? Well it’s quite next level. Not only does Digsby connect to every major message service (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google, Etc) but it incorporates your email (GMail, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, IMAP, and POP) flawlessly. If that wasn’t enough Digsby goes one step ahead and seemlessly integrates with MySpace, Facebook (and Facebook IM) and Twitter. That’s right it doubles as a social networking tool that alerts you of events like new messages and gives you a live Newsfeed of what your friends are up to.
Digsby feels very AIM-ish. Typical buddy list and Instant Message window. However unlike AIM it is very customizable. You can change almost everything in the program. Look and feel all with a few clicks. It is very easy to make your own and even easier to get know. While there are some parts of the prgram that annoy me a little I think this is a great step in the right direction for IM clients. Sweet little features like returning a message right from a pop up notification shows there are developers who are thinking.
Digsby is free and available now. You are required to sign up for a Digsby account but there is no harm in that. I recommend everyone give it a whirl and see how they like it. The worst that can happen is you uninstall it if you hate it.
Update: To the gentleman who emailed me… I DO use Digsby. Just because I don’t say that doesn’t mean I don’t support it or hate it! Thank you for the chuckle.

I have been a Sidekick user for the last 3 years now. I started with my Sidekick 2 and now 2 designs later am rocking a Sidekick LX. Why? Well I love the fact that I have full AIM on my phone, I use it often. I love that I have built in easy to use email with my @tmail.com account. I have a great camera, cool little things like SMS/MMS and downloadable content at the touch of a button. So why is this post titled Google’s Android? Let me explain!
Google released the SDK for the open source cell phone platform called Android and developers have been going wild creating new and exciting programs for the operating system. What does this mean… well eventually there will be phones running this system and with that comes open source phones. That means you can have all sorts of full customizable programs on your cell. No more issues about missing features or annoying things you wish you could remove. This means for me I can now have threaded txt messages and video recording… GPS navigations and video conferencing. The age of cell phones that suck is over.
Imagine thousands of free (maybe a price for some) programs at your disposal. You want a fully functional AIM client on your phone and not some watered down crap version? OK! Jump on your phone and add the application! Imagine a phone with a real keyboard and programs that function… not some trendy Apple iPhone crap that can’t even copy and paste!
Android… I can’t wait! (picture is of a test phone, many different style phones are being developed)
