I must confess

So bored, I start work on Tuesday. Marketing job so it shouldn’t be that bad. With the economy the way it is I am excited to get any position that isn’t working the fry-alator. Not really a knock on fast food but I don’t think that’s a job for me. The problem I face daily while looking for a respectable job is professionals are losing their jobs left and right. So what do they do? They apply for jobs for 40 and 50 thousand a year… jobs I should be getting but jobs I am not not getting because they snake them out from under me. They have double the experience I have but are willing to work for pennies compared to their former 100k a year job.

I have been giving serious thought to going back to school. I am burned out from being burned out. I am tired of free time… who would have thought. I thirst for knowledge so I think I want to start quenching that thirst. The key is finding the right classes in the right school. Going over to the local community college is alright except they don’t offer much and it’s like a high school reunion sometimes. I greatly dislike that.

I am working my creative muscle more, I am starting to piece together a band. It’s something I have wanted to do for a very long long time. I don’t really care if we are any good, or even if we stay a band very long. Just long enough to play a show or two and I will consider it a success. More on this at another time. Just kind of talking it out in my own head.

I am eagerly awaiting my T-Mobile/Google G1 featuring the Android OS. You know… the one I have been writing about on here for the last few months. I have my preorder in and have since the night of its internet release/announcement. Expect a full review of the phone once I get it on the 22nd of October. As always look for me on Twitter.

Posterous

2621108979_21f3653775I signed up for a new service today called Posterous. What is Posterous well it’s a mobile blogging platform. Posterous operates mainly through email. I have it setup to work with my Sidekick email. You pretty much just post. You can write whatever you want and attach a variety of files. From pictures to audio, word docs to pdf’s. There is no support for movies (yet?) but it does convert youtube links into youtube players.

I think the service is great and have been playing with it all day. You can check it out @ http://jayfarmington.posterous.com and maybe get coaxed to sign up. The truth is this is another web service that I will use for a week, maybe less and then forget about. Yes it does offer the ability to update Flickr and Twitter but I can do that from my cell phone without Posterous. It’s not that the service isn’t great, it is. The design of the website is flawless but do I need another social media/social network to talk about what I’m doing?

I guess Posterous falls in between Slackerstyle and Twitter. Everyone knows to follow my Twitter as I update regularly but at the same time what if I want to write more? What if I want to talk about me? Even then do I need a “side blog” to talk about me? I own this website… I can talk about myself all I want.

Anyway, give it a chance check out http://www.posterous.com and see if you fit in. If not, well I’ll understand.

Taking Back Sunday(s)

So shot, worked today all day at the store… it was great though, I am super excited. This is the beginning of many many large things. Reasons we made the move to begin with.

[removed] =)

Tomorrow is my day off, I think I’m gonna head over to the beach and do some fishing, maybe sit down and do some writing. The World is not Ready #2 is coming along and it is such a huge improvement over the first release. I guess those poems were just things I needed to get off my chest. Some of them were great but others I could do without. Some really interesting things lined up which have been planned for a long time now, you will all love it.

Portugal v. Whocares is coming up this weekend and I am so fucking excited! Other than that I’ll be over here playing with things.

Not much more to leave

Well in case you failed to watch one of the best games of the year Manchester United, my brother’s team and quite possibly the best soccer team on the planet today won the European Championships as expected. They defeated Chelsea in penalty kicks. Van Der Sar was the hero of the day. Really an amazing game.

Naturally it was nice to see my brother’s team win. My boys on Real Madrid won the Spanish Championships so I am more than satisfied. Now we move onward towards the Euro Cup. Where the Champion’s League was teams around Europe, Euro 2008 is for countries. I will be firmly backing Portugal as always. They are captained by this years football player of the year Cristiano Ronoldo and look extremely promising. The big surprise of the group is Poland! More on all of that at another time.

Right now I am moving all of my crap out of my room and into another room down the hall. No matter where I live I never have a room that is cool and comfortable. It’s always 90 degrees where I sleep and it sucks. What am I going to do in the California heat? Wait what was that? California? Huh? You will find out eventually. Omg, shocker!

I shipped out 3 more copies of “Vacuum Grievance” today, thank you to everyone who is buying. To those who haven’t please head over to THEWORLDISNOTREADY and get a copy before they run out. We are down to number 12 of 25.
