In case you don’t know… get to know. Seriously, what is even going on over here? All I know is I want to go. The architecture is beyond anything we can imagine. Things that you could only imagine from movies about the future are now being planned in Dubai. The worlds wealthiest are pouring money into this new Babylon.
I would really like to visit, and based on what you are about to see… you will too, however from what I have been reading it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Aparently some of the infratructure in Dubai absolutely sucks. Things like hailing a cab or getting yourself certain food items (basic food items) is nearly impossible for the common man. Now granted I understand this is no place for “the common man” to live. It is important they do though as they are the ones that make the gears turn.
Either way, check out this mind blowing website with pictures and descriptions. I mean it when I say this is the new Babylon. Would be an excellent place to vacation to… if you have that kind of money. Complete with the world’s only 7 star hotel, the largest amusement park in the world “Dubailand”, and an indoor ski mountain. Not to mention the Sports Palace complete with like 3 soccer stadiums and what not… goal being hosting the summer and winter Olympics!

I’ve been… It was a port visit we made on our 7 month deployment that just ended early October.
They’re afraid their wealth will fade, and they are building tourist attractions with money they still have. Hoping to use the booming tourism to help continue the thriving wealth.
Everything is very expensive in Dubai, and they are real big on their culture. Some of the people seem like they just ignore tourists ignorance to their culture, others are some what rude about it..
of course you like my style, you only talk to me every night on the phone.
