Staying Fresh

twitter-logo

Hello all, right off the rip thank you to everyone who sent me messages and comments about my last piece on my friend Nate. It was so nice to hear that everyone enjoyed it. It really made me feel like I brought honor to Nate and his memory. Again, thank you!

Elsewhere I am almost sold out of “Vacuum Grievance” which makes me happy as well. Thank you to everyone who bought them. I have just under 10 left so if you want one then get off your ass and get in there. To those who know I am holding one for you in person don’t worry I still have it.

If you aren’t following me on Twitter I suggest you sign up and get that handled as I post there about 10 times a day and post here only once a week. You can follow along without signing up but it’s always nice to follow people who follow me. You can watch my “tweets” on the sidebar here or at my Twitter page.

Speaking of Twitter my good friend and notable Slackerstyle topic of conversation Luc Rioual has started using his Twitter again. We made a deal that I can’t really speak about but nonetheless he is using it and using it to its full capacity. With the help of TwitPic he is not just updating with text but he is updating with pictures of his adventures while he is on tour. He’s currently on the west coast and I recommend following him too.

Outside that you know the usual. Check out my recently posted Time Waster and when you are done here please move forward to these great websites!

In Memory; Nate Roshkind

lethewhois

May 28, 2005 was a normal day. Not much going on all day and at night I was attending a show with my VDC Family. Everything was normal, my lovely girlfriend Catherine was out with her best friend Meghan and I had the night to myself. I piled into my car and drove to the show. I met up with my brothers Joe, Mike, Timmy, and other very close friends. The show was great, Fight Night had just finished playing and everyone was having a good time. That was until time stopped…

FMX-Team; Today’s Time Waster

fmxteam

FMX-Team is probably my biggest addiction right now… well other than Twitter, but still I love this game. It’s not anything you haven’t seen before, and it’s not special in anyway. For the last two weeks FMXT has taken up much of my free time. What’s so great? Nothing. The game is just a typical motorcross game where you ride off jumps and pull tricks in the air. As you gain more experience you obtain new tricks. Each rider has 5 tricks in all and 3 to start.

Your purpose is to set records. I have set many myself. My highest placing is something like 224? Check for Jay VDC somewhere in that range. There are like 20 levels and in each level you do the same thing. Pull tricks for big scores. The game really sucks but since I’ve been playing it on and off for the last fortnight I figured what the hell.

Just saying hello

Yawn, I have been working on some great new designs for Bridgeport Republic and some personal designs for 322. I think I need to invest in my own screen printing setup. Small time of course but imagine all of the cool stuff I could make? Whatever though, not for now, trying to save for more important things.

Sad news today as Camu Tao; hip hop artist, Weatherman, and Cardboard City representative, who is friends with many of my friends passed away. My condolences go out to all of his friends and family. Camu was an excellent artist and will always be remembered as a Cardboard City star. I wish I had the opportunity to meet him and thank him for his great work. You can check out his legacy at his myspace. RIP Camu Tao.

That sparks a lot of emotion because we are 3 days outside the memorial of one of my best friend’s passings. On May 28 it will be 3 years since Nate Roshkind passed away. I hope he is happy where he is and doing well. It still isn’t even real that he is gone. It doesn’t feel like 3 years, and it won’t feel like 4 years either. He is always missed and never strays from my heart or mind. On the 28th Slackerstyle will pay tribute to Nate for one day so be sure to check that out. <3

Moving away from all this sadness I hope to have some new stuff for the website soon. I have a boatload of movie reviews to post up that I haven’t gotten around to doing so maybe soon? Anyway, as always keep an eye on my Twitter because I update that many times a day with the latest news both in and outside of my life. Pretty much if you are a stalker you want to keep your eyes peeled there.

Euro 2008!

euro2008In preparation for the upcoming European Football (Soccer for hard headed Americans) Championships I have gone ahead and decked out the website in honor of my favorite team and proud nationality, Portugal! As the tournament approaches I will begin to cover all of Portugal’s game activity.

If you are a fellow supporter get your shit together and leave some comments! If you aren’t… whatever, leave comments telling me how much Portugal sucks, I don’t care. Get into the vibe that is the 2008 Euro Championships!

This go-round I think we have a great chance to win! With the current world player of the year Cristiano Ronoldo as our captain there is no telling what could happen! I would greatly appreciate it though if he stopped taking dives. This year Portugal did amazing during the qualification rounds finishing second behind Poland (who would have thought?). They dawned group A for this Euro Championships and have to contend with Turkey for their first game. Other group challenges include the Czech Republic and Switzerland. Should be no problems.

Euro 2008 stars June 7th, don’t miss it!

As for my friends in England, my buddies over at Dinoballs, and my younger brother who is a fanatic about Manchester United and England’s national team whilst living in Rhode Island USA. I invite you to join me in cheering for Portugal! Sorry gents, maybe next time? Cheers!

Sidenote: With all that damn talent howwwwww could you NOT qualify?! Anyway… Euro 2008 here we (Portugal) come! Haha! <3
