Diet Pepsi Max; Soda Review

Diet Pepsi Max is a low-calorie, sugar-free cola, marketed by PepsiCo as an alternative to regular Pepsi and Diet Pepsi. The “Max” comes from the addition of extra caffeine. More or less this is Pepsi with an extra kick to keep you awake or whatever. The actual “Max” brand has been around for a decade. It was introduced in The U.K. and eventually faded away. It was reintroduced this summer with new branding and marketing strategy.

The bottle itself is pretty cool. I like the foil look and the blackish, bluish fade/hue when you turn the bottle in different directions. Other than that there isn’t much aesthetically that separates this from a normal bottle of Pepsi.

The Diet Pepsi max is for all intents and purposes just Diet Pepsi with more “oomph!” it is a zero calorie, zero fat, and zero carb soda. It is sugar free and probably uses some type of sweetener. None of this effects the taste.

The soda tastes just like regular Pepsi, the only notable difference is the presence of an after taste after you finish swallowing. I think that if you drink Diet on a regular basis then you shouldn’t notice this… but I don’t so I do. After drinking it I really didn’t notice any extra energy or anything but I mean who knows… my sleep schedule is for shit anyway.

Bottom line, not a bad soda. I like cola’s so this one didn’t really surprise me. The breakdown is as follows.

CSS tutorial posted!

slacker_corners_ss.JPGOk just a quick update. The CSS section has been launched. Inside you will find only one tutorial right now but it will have to suffice. The tutorial teaches you how to create rounded corners without the use of any images. I am working on more and I will be posting more soon but this one is pretty cool and I hope some people (who code) fuck with it, maybe even improve it! I am working on a cool little image zoomer that (you guessed it!) zooms in on images when you hover over them. It’s pretty basic but the functionality is rock solid. I guess it could work well for an image gallery.

More *secret* updates coming soon! Ok not so secret… I am making an image gallery, ajax and css. You will like it.

Pownce goes beta… but do we care?

Download-screenPownce is the newest startup by Kevin Rose. You may know Kevin from his internet fame surrounding digg.com, the online news community. For months Kevin and his developers have been alluding to a new instant message type program that would allow you to share content with your friends.

Today Pownce went beta and you do need an invitation code to get an account. So what is it? Well… Pownce is a way to send messages, files, links, and events to your friends. You’ll create a network of the people you know and then you can share stuff with all of them, just a few of them, or even just one other person really fast.

Right now, there are four basic things you can send: messages, links, files, and events. Only the people you choose get to see what you send. Kind of like CC’ing an email, only recipients can see and respond to what you send. You can make public notes too that (you guessed it) the public at large can read and respond to.

Interesting but this just seems like a glorified twitter/email/forum nothing really revolutionary and nothing that I think will really catch on. I think the idea is in the right direction but anything you want to send or share personally with a friend you can just message through aim or msn. As far as the community aspect, maybe if the Pownce system incorporated digg functionality it might really catch on, other than that I will wait for an invite to review it further.

OJ Simpson’s ‘If I Did It’ Leaked!

OJ’s book revolving around what would have gone down if he was the one who ‘really’ murdered his wife. We know he really did and got off clean which makes this all the more sickening. Truth of the matter is most psychologist claim this is a way for OJ to bring himself some peace.

The book was written last year and set to be released but because of a loud outcry from many readers and advocates the book was never sold and all copies were destroyed. This is an e-book and a complete one at that. A rare opportunity to own a piece of history that never even happened.

Download the book by clicking here! It is in .torrent format. If you don’t have a torrent client, please visit Google.

I read some of this and it’s fucking sick and pathetic, just so you know. I think that OJ had to be out of his mind to agree to write this book… that’s like just adding gasoline to the fire… actually it’s like laughing in the face of the American Justice System, pretty messed up. Glad they pulled it so he couldn’t reap the proceeds but I’m glad it leaked so we can all see what a sick fuck he is.

Sidekick 4 & Sidekick MySpace

UPDATE 9/6/07: The Sidekick 4 (LX) has been leaked, please follow this link to the updated post!

Late post but I don’t think I could leave this for the morning. This image is a few days old so don’t blame me for being busy but I think it is definitely worth the post. Engadget under what I am assuming is a good source has posted what it believes the Sidekick 4 RAZR will look like and what the Sidekick Slide or “Slide”kick will look like as well.

Sidekickslide

Nothing official but those form factors are quite similar to the current Sidekick 3. What is official however is the appearance of the Danger/MySpace application! That’s right, every true SK fan’s dream has come true as a dedicated app will be released in the coming weeks that is solely dedicated to MySpace. Much like the Helio app the Sidekick version will let you do everything you would do on a real PC right from your Sidekick!

Myspacesidekick

I think the MySpace app is a huge step forward for Danger because MySpace is the biggest social network in the world and the Sidekick browser didn’t really play nice with the MySpace coding. More details as they roll in!
